WestNet Humanitarian Services — Website and donation platform terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the websites, donation platforms, and online services operated by WestNet Humanitarian Services (“WHS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including westnet.ngo, westnet.ca/humanity, and any related subdomains or applications (collectively, the “Services”).
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

All donations made through the Services are voluntary, charitable contributions. By making a donation, you confirm that:
WHS issues official tax receipts for eligible donations:
Donations are generally non-refundable. However, if a donation was made in error, or if there was a processing error resulting in an incorrect charge, please contact us within 30 days at humanity@westnet.ca. We will review refund requests on a case-by-case basis and process valid refunds within 10 business days.
If you set up a recurring donation, you may cancel at any time by contacting us at humanity@westnet.ca or +1 (403) 774-7470. Cancellations take effect before the next scheduled charge.
Donations are processed by third-party payment processors including Stripe, Inc. and PayPal, Inc. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. WHS does not store complete credit card numbers.
You may designate your donation for a specific campaign or program (e.g., Lebanon Relief, USA Community Relief). WHS will make reasonable efforts to apply designated donations to the specified purpose. However, if a campaign is fully funded, discontinued, or if circumstances change, WHS reserves the right to redirect excess funds to other programs that further our charitable mission. Donors will be notified if a significant reallocation occurs.
All content on the Services — including text, images, graphics, logos, videos, software, and design — is the property of WHS or its licensors and is protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
The Services may contain links to third-party websites and services (e.g., social media platforms, payment processors, partner organizations, UN agencies). These links are provided for convenience only. WHS does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party website.
If you submit content to us (e.g., through contact forms, testimonials, volunteer applications, or email), you grant WHS a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, and display such content in connection with our charitable mission. You represent that you have the right to submit such content and that it does not violate any third party’s rights.
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you donated to WHS in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WHS, its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Alberta, Canada.
For U.S. donors: To the extent required by applicable law, disputes may also be brought in the state or federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota.
Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Services, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
By providing your email address (e.g., when making a donation or submitting an inquiry), you consent to receiving transactional emails from us, including donation confirmations, tax receipts, and responses to your inquiries. You may also receive occasional updates about our humanitarian programs. You can unsubscribe from non-transactional communications at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” in any email or contacting us directly.
WHS reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
WHS reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Services at any time without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Services.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms shall remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and WHS regarding your use of the Services and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
